We want you to feel confident and enjoy your treatment journey. A normal concern for patients is how the brace may affect their appearance. Gone are the days where braces have to be visible metal brackets.
Unlike traditional fixed braces that are put onto the outside of your teeth, lingual appliances are bonded to the back surfaces of the teeth (tongue-side), therefore the brackets are hidden making them virtually invisible from the outside. They are the ultimate choice for someone who would like a completely invisible brace.
Each of the gold alloy brackets are made using Computer Aided Design and Manufacture. They are moulded with precision to fit your teeth exactly for the most comfortable fit possible. Your specialist orthodontist will work closely with the laboratory that makes the brace to design your smile from start to finish.
The Lingual brace is fixed to the teeth and cannot be removed by the patient, so there is no chance of it being lost, this can be a great benefit to many people as they do not have to be thinking about removing the brace for eating, drinking and cleaning. It also means the braces are constantly working to move the teeth so there is no risk of relapse during the treatment.
Although less common for children, these can be a great choice for actors, models and musicians. Some adult patients opt for a combination of labial (outer tooth surface) braces on the lower teeth and lingual (tongue side) on the upper teeth. Lingual braces have a great aesthetic appeal, they will not impact on your appearance and they are ideal for people who would prefer a more discreet solution.
What is Lingual Lite?
Lingual Lite is only fitted to your front 6 to 8 teeth. If you are concerned about the appearance of only your front teeth this is a more affordable and efficient alternative for you. Lingual Lite is ideal for treating moderate problems affecting the front teeth. We will be able to advise you on your suitability for this treatment option.
Can I Combine Treatment Options?
All of our private treatment options are customised to suit our patients individual needs. A popular choice among our adult patients is to combine the hidden quality of the lingual brace with the discreet nature of the ceramic brackets, this provides a very discreet and cost effective alternative to fully lingual braces.
